Good to get our Hereford bull, AXEL, out to his ladies last week!

Some Hereford steers and heifers purchased from Melton Mowbray market last week, now safely home!🐮

Super day on Friday selling our home bred, grass reared lamb. Thanks to all our customers, new and returning 🥩🐑🍀.

Dod, our 14 month old border collie, is improving! He definitely has the instinct and loves working sheep 🐑

High lambing percentage this year, which I think is down to us looking after the ewes a lot in late summer and early autumn last year. Due to the drought last year we started feeding the ewes whole oats mixed with ewe nuts from mid August. The ewes then went onto a high energy cover crop 1 week before the tups went in. Feeding them last summer was costly at the time, but the results we are now seeing with a higher than normal lambing percentage and with ewes in good condition

Some tremendous lambs from our Cheviot ewes this year! There’s are a pair of lovely Cheviot x texel twins 🐑🐑

The herd is growing! Our new purchases from local breeder, Hedges Herefords. Cows with Feb/March born calves at foot, chuffed with how they look in the field! 🐮

Butterfly calved her 5th calf on Monday morning. A beatiful bull calf, unassisted which is how we like it!
